Common issues and solutions for Grok Studio.
Extension Not Appearing
Symptom: No Grok Studio sidebar on grok.com
Solutions:
- Check that the extension is enabled at
chrome://extensions - Make sure you're on
grok.com(not an incognito window unless you've allowed the extension) - Try refreshing the page (Ctrl+R / Cmd+R)
- Check if another extension is conflicting — try disabling other extensions temporarily
Images Not Saving
Symptom: Images generate but don't appear in your Opalite dashboard
Solutions:
- Check connection status — Click the extension popup icon. It should show "Connected"
- Check Cloud Save setting — Make sure "Use Opalite Cloud Save" is enabled in the sidebar settings
- Check your plan quota — Free plan has a 50-image monthly limit. Check Settings > Billing
- Check browser console — Press F12, go to Console tab, look for errors mentioning "opalite"
⚠️
If you see "WebSocket connection failed" in the console, your network may be blocking WebSocket connections. Try a different network.
Extension Popup Shows "Disconnected"
Solutions:
- Click Connect in the popup to re-authenticate
- Make sure you're signed in at opalitestudios.com
- Clear the extension's storage: go to
chrome://extensions, click Details on Grok Studio, scroll to "Site access", and try removing then re-adding
Slow Image Saving
Possible causes:
- Large image files take longer to upload
- Network latency between your location and the Opalite server
- Server-side processing queue during peak times
Images typically save within 2-5 seconds. If consistently slow, check your internet connection speed.
"Quota Exceeded" Error
Your plan's monthly download limit has been reached. Options:
- Wait for the next billing cycle (quotas reset monthly)
- Upgrade to Starter or Pro for unlimited saves
- Check your usage at Settings > Billing
Aurora Image Issues
If Aurora-generated images aren't being captured:
- Ensure the image has fully rendered on the page before navigating away
- Some complex generations may take longer — wait for the image to fully appear
- Try refreshing the page and generating again
Extension Crashes
If the extension stops working entirely:
- Go to
chrome://extensions - Click the refresh icon on Grok Studio
- Refresh the Grok page
- If the issue persists, remove and re-install the extension
