Image Processing
Upscale, remove backgrounds, and remove watermarks from your saved images.
Opalite includes built-in image processing tools powered by AI. You can enhance any saved image directly from your dashboard.
Available Processing Types
Upscale (HD)
AI upscaling increases your image resolution while preserving quality. Useful for:
- Creating print-ready versions of AI art
- Sharpening low-resolution generations
- Preparing images for social media at optimal sizes
Remove Background (RMBG)
Automatically removes the background from any image, leaving a transparent PNG. Great for:
- Creating stickers or assets
- Isolating subjects for compositing
- Design and marketing materials
Remove Watermark
Removes watermarks from images. This feature is available on the Pro plan only.
Only remove watermarks from images you have the rights to use. This tool is intended for removing AI-generated watermarks from your own creations.
How to Process an Image
Select an image
From your Downloads or Gallery page, click on an image to open its detail view.
Choose a processing type
Click one of the processing buttons: Upscale HD, Remove BG, or Remove WM.
Wait for processing
Processing typically takes 10-30 seconds. You'll see a real-time status indicator. The page updates automatically when processing completes.
View the result
The processed version appears as a new "version" of the image. You can switch between Original, HD, No BG, and No WM versions using the version chips.
Enhancement Chaining
Processing operations chain intelligently. If you upscale an image and then remove the background, the RMBG operation uses the upscaled version as input — giving you the best possible result.
The chain order is: Original → HD → No BG → No WM
Processing Status
Each job shows one of these states:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Queued | Waiting to start |
| Processing | Currently being processed |
| Completed | Done — result available |
| Failed | Error occurred — can be retried |
Batch Processing
You can process multiple images at once:
- Select images using the checkboxes in Downloads or Gallery
- Choose a processing action from the batch toolbar
- All selected images are queued for processing
Only one processing operation can run per image at a time. If an image is already being processed, additional operations are queued automatically.
