Installation
How to install the ChatGPT Studio browser extension.
ChatGPT Studio is a Chrome extension that automatically saves AI-generated images and videos from ChatGPT, DALL-E, and Sora to your Opalite cloud library.
Requirements
- Google Chrome (or any Chromium-based browser like Edge, Brave, Arc)
- An Opalite account (free tier available)
Install from File
Since ChatGPT Studio is not yet on the Chrome Web Store, you'll install it as an unpacked extension:
Download the extension
Download the latest ChatGPTExt.zip from your Opalite dashboard or the link provided to you.
Extract the ZIP
Unzip the file to a permanent location on your computer (e.g., Documents/ChatGPTStudio/). Don't delete this folder β Chrome needs it to run the extension.
Open Chrome Extensions
Navigate to chrome://extensions in your browser. Enable Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner.
Load the extension
Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder. ChatGPT Studio should appear in your extensions list.
Pin the extension
Click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin ChatGPT Studio for easy access.
After installation, visit chatgpt.com to see the ChatGPT Studio sidebar appear automatically.
Updating
To update ChatGPT Studio, download the new version, replace the files in your extension folder, and click the refresh icon on the chrome://extensions page.
Troubleshooting Installation
If the extension doesn't load:
- Make sure Developer mode is enabled
- Verify the extracted folder contains a
manifest.jsonfile - Check Chrome's error console for any loading errors
- Try removing and re-adding the extension
