This policy explains what data the Opalite for Instagram extension collects, how we use it, and your rights. We believe in transparency and collect only what’s necessary to provide the service.
Data We Collect
Instagram Data
- Instagram cookies — Used only for posting content — same mechanism as Instagram's own web app
- Username & profile picture — For account identification in the extension UI
- Post content — Photos, videos, captions — only when you explicitly create or schedule posts
- Scheduling data — Post times and queue — stored locally and optionally synced to cloud
We never receive or store your Instagram password.
Opalite Account (Optional)
- Email — Used as your account identifier for cloud features
- Subscription status — Your plan tier for feature access
An Opalite account is optional. The extension works fully without one.
AI Features (Optional)
- Image data for captions — Sent to Google Gemini API for AI caption generation — processed, not stored
- Caption preferences — Your selected style (casual, professional, etc.)

Store and display your data, enforce plan limits, process payments.

Verify your identity when you sign in or connect extensions.

Understand usage patterns to improve features.

Send transactional emails about your account or billing.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
